“Mechanic: Resurrection” is an exciting thrill-ride of a motion picture from German director Dennis Gansel and written by Philip Shelby and Tony Mosher. This sequel to 2011’s “Mechanic” is tightly directed with a fast pace and a seamless storyline.
After faking his own death in the first film, Jason Statham’s character Arthur Bishop gets involved in another hit-man scheme. Statham has much of the same charisma as in the original, although this project did not do very well at the box office or with critics.
The impressive supporting cast includes Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, Michelle Yeoh, Sam Hazeldine, Natalie Burn, and Rhatha Phongam. Cinematographer Daniel Gottschalk deserves honorable mention for beautiful location shoots in Brazil, Australia, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bulgaria.
