Fans of the “Maze Runner” movie series should be happy with the third and final film “Maze Runner: The Death Cure.” Director Wes Ball, who was also at the helm of the 2014 and 2015 projects, did a good job with this picture that deals with the group of young people immune to a virus that destroyed most of the world’s population.
The ensemble cast performed well enough to keep the nearly two-and-a-half hour film moving rapidly under the guiding hand of Ball and screenwriter T. S. Nowlin, who adapted the movie from the 2009 novel by James Dasher. The cast includes Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Dexter Darden, Ki Hong Lee, Patricia Clarkson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Giancarlo Esposito, Aiden Gillen, Walton Goggins, and Jacob Lofland.
“Maze Runner: The Death Cure” was a satisfying conclusion to the series, “The Maze Runner” (2014) and “The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” (2015), and a hit at the box office for 20th Century Fox.
