My Review

Gene Autry and the local town folk fall victim to greedy land developers in “Man From Music Mountain.” Besides the drama, there is plenty of music from Autry and co-stars Smiley Burnette, Carol Hughes, Sally Payne, and Polly Jenkins and her Plowboys. (Carol Hughes’ daughter Kay Faylen was much later the first wife of television star Regis Philbin.)

Other cast members include Ivan Miller, Edward Cassidy, Lew Kelly, Earl Dwire, Lloyd Ingraham, and Al Terry. Autry’s horse Champion starred as his on-screen equestrian friend. Producer Charles E. Ford, director Joe Kane, and screenwriters Betty Burbridge and Luci Ward put together the fun and watchable “Man From Music Mountain” from Republic Pictures. It is not to be confused with the 1943 movie “The Man From Music Mountain” starring Roy Rogers, also directed by Joe Kane and also from Republic Pictures.
