Walt Disney Pictures put together a winsome made-for-television comedic film called “Mail to the Chief.” It is the story of a junior high school student who makes a friend on-line that he does not realize is the President of the United States. The film features great chemistry between Bill Switzer and Randy Quaid, who portray the youngster and the Chief Executive, respectively.
Director Eric Champnella did an excellent job organizing this project; he also co-wrote the teleplay with Jack Thomas. It first aired on ABC’s “Wonderful World of Disney” in April, 2000. Co-stars of “Mail to the Chief” includes Holland Taylor, Elisha Cuthbert, Ashley Gorrell, Martin Doyle, Reagan Pasternak, and Craig Eldridge.
