My Review

“Made in Italy” is a comedy-drama film about a man who must enlist his estranged son’s help in refurbishing his wife’s villa in Northern Italy after her untimely death. Liam Neeson turned in his usual outstanding performance, this time highly nuanced with his real-life son Michael Richardson (from his marriage to the late Natasha Richardson) as his on-screen son. One cannot help but wonder if their were some true life tensions rising to the surface on the big screen.

Director-screenwriter James D’Arcy did an outstanding job in his feature film directorial debut, not only at the helm of the picture but penning the script as well. Other actors include Valeria Bilello, Lindsay Duncan, Yolanda Kettle, Julian Ovenden, and Flaminia Cinque.

This watchable independent motion picture “Made in Italy” as not a big success at the box office, as it was out in theaters only in limited release.
