My Review

Another “Left Behind” film has been released called “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist.” Director Kevin Sorbo, who also stars in the picture, is at the helm of his third movie here, instilling the project with good production values, including guiding the actors to outstanding performances.

He was aided by a wonderful screenplay by Paul LaLonde, John Patus, and Jessica Parker. LaLonde also served as the movie’s primary producer, securing financing through “crowdfunding,” the method where numerous people contribute money for a project, usually at a website. This film is a sequel to 2014’s “Left Behind,” which LaLonde also produced and wrote and starred Nicholas Cage, based on the popular “Left Behind” faith-based novel series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. (Kirk Cameron starred in three previous “Left Behind” movies in 2001, 2002, and 2005, also produced and written by LaLonde.)

The cast is headed by Kevin Sorbo, known for his portrayal of Hercules in the 1990’s television series, and also stars Neal McDonough, Corbin Bernsen, Greg Parrow, Sarah Fisher, Charles Andrew Payne, Kathryn Kohut, and Bailey Chase as Nicolae Carpathia, the antichrist. Sam Sorbo, Kevin’s wife, has a small but pivotal role in the watchable “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist,” a rapturous movie experience.
