“Last Chance Harvey” is an old-fashioned love story where a man finds an unexpected romance while attending his daughter’s wedding in London. Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson turn in their usual sterling performances with some good on-screen chemistry, despite the glaring age and personality differences.
British director Joel Hopkins (“Jump Tomorrow” 2001) kept a smooth pace throughout the 92 minute picture. He also penned the lucid screenplay. The supporting cast includes Eileen Atkins, James Brolin, Kathy Baker, Liane Balaban, and Richard Schiff, all part of the independent movie production of “Last Chance Harvey.”
