My Review

“Land of Plenty” tells the story of a woman returning to America after years living abroad. She searches out her only living relative, her mother’s brother, with interesting results. Director Wim Wenders (“The Million Dollar Hotel” 2000), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Meredith, has a moderately interesting film with some slow segments.

The actors delivered in the performance department, including Michelle Williams, John Diehl, Shaun Toub, Burt Young, Wendell Pierce, Richard Edison, Jeris Lee Poindexter, Jeffrey Vincent Parise, Christa Lang, Bernard White, and Gloria Stuart in her final role in a movie career that began in 1932. Stuart passed away in 2010 at the age of 100 years young. “Land of Plenty” is an independently produced film that made no money in theatrical release.
