“Kung Fu Panda 4” is the fourth in the series of the animated martial arts comedy films that continue the story of Po, the kung fu panda guy who must find and train his successor as Dragon Warrior. A crisis arises when the evil sorceress Chameleon covets the position. Po teams up with the fox bandit Zhen to defeat her. Director Mike Mitchell (“Trolls” 2016) and the team of screenwriters Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger, and Darren Lemke have provided colorful animation and lots of action to keep young viewers occupied, but seem to be running out of steam in the new & fresh ideas department.
The voice cast includes Jack Black as Po, Viola Davis as Chameleon, and Awkwafina as Zhen, as well as Dustin Hoffman, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane, James Hong, Ke Huy Quan, Lori Tan Chinn, Ronny Chieng, and Harry Shum Jr. The entertaining and watchable “Kung Fu Panda 4” has been a success at the box office for DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures. This is the fourth in a series that came out in 2008, 2011, and 2016. DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has stated that there could be two more “Kung Fu Panda” movies following the first four.
