A confusing plot, weak storyline, and improbable natural disasters are just a few of the problems with “Knowing,” a science fiction film poorly directed by Alex Proyas (“I, Robot” 2004). The story centers on a strange paper filled with numbers that somehow predict disasters that will destroy the earth in the apocalypse. The screenplay by Ryne Douglas Pearson, Juliet Snowden, and Stiles White is just plain terrible.
The cast includes Nicolas Cage, Rose Byrne, Chandler Canterbury, Lara Robinson, Nadia Townsend, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Hopgood, Alethea McGrath, and Liam Hemsworth as Spencer. They did put forth an effort to deliver good performances, “Knowing” they would receive a paycheck from DMG Entertainment and Escape Artists Productions.
