My Review

“Killer Klowns from Outer Space” is a science fiction horror-comedy movie about aliens who look like clowns arriving from space and proceed to terrorize a small town. Director Stephen Chiodo put together a mildly entertaining “B” movie that is surprisingly free from violence and gore. He co-wrote the screenplay with Charles Chiodo.

The cast includes Grant Cramer (son of Terry Moore), Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, Charles Chiodo, Christopher Titus, and show biz veterans John Vernon and Royal Dano. Dano is famous for voicing Abraham Lincoln in Disneyland’s “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” and Vernon was a character actor in scores of motion pictures and is father of actress Kate Vernon.

The watchable and fun escapist entertainment “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” has made lots of money in release for producers Edward Chiodo, Stephen Chiodo, and Charles Chiodo, Chiodo Bros. Productions, and Trans World Entertainment. It has become a cult classic and is the only movie ever made by the Chiodo brothers.

Honorable mention should go to John Massari for the exceptional music score and Darcee F. Olson for her creative work as costume designer. “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” was filmed in Watsonville, California, the quintessential American small town.
