“Kidnap” is a tightly-directed and economically-written film about a woman following a car when her son is abducted by its drivers. The movie is so intense that it was mercifully only 81 minutes long. “Kidnap” is essentially a film that is (spoiler alert!) one big car chase.
Director Luis Prieto (“Pusher” 2012) and screenwriter Knate Lee did their job well enough to accommodate a major star like Halle Berry, who was also one of the producers of this independent film. The supporting cast includes Sage Correa as Berry’s son, Lew Temple, Chris McGinn, and Christopher Berry as the kidnappers, and Dana Gourrier as the deputy sheriff. “Kidnap” was a modest hit at the box office.
