My Review

Tom Selleck has another winner with “Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise.” Director Robert Harmon also returned for the third outing, ensuring that this made-for-television movie retains the class of its two predecessors. Selleck co-wrote the teleplay with J. T. Allen and Michael Brandman.

The cast once again includes Viola Davis and Kohl Sudduth as Jesse Stone’s law enforcement cohorts, as well as Stephen McHattie and Vito Rezza. The plot has Stone dealing with two separate cases, per usual, this time the murder of a teenage girl and a domestic violence situation. Guest stars: John Diehl, Debra Christofferson, Kerri Smith, Steven Flynn, Brendan Kelly, Matt Barr, Mae Whitman, Edward Edwards, and Orla Brady.

William Devane plays psychiatrist Dr. Dix, who helps Stone with his drinking problem. Veteran star Devane, who was featured on CBS’s “Knots Landing” for many years, aids Tom Selleck see to it that the third Jesse Stone picture is indeed a charm. “Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise” first aired on the CBS television network in April of 2006.
