My Review

Executive producer, co-writer, and star Tom Selleck has released made-for-television movie number eight in the series of nine Jesse Stone pictures based on the Robert B. Parker novels – “Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt.” The movie has retained the high quality of the series thanks to Selleck and his team that includes producer Steven J. Brandman, director Robert Harmon, musical score composer Jeff Beal, cinematographer David Gribble, and Michael Brandman, co-writer of the teleplay.

The story has Selleck’s Stone reinstated as police chief of Paradise, Massachusetts. He must solve the murders of two members of the force, played by Jeff Geddis and Vito Rezza. Returning cast members include Kathy Baker, Kohl Sudduth, Stephen McHattie, Gloria Reuben, William Sadler, Saul Rubinek, Jeremy Akerman, and William Devane, formerly Gregory Sumner of television’s “Knots Landing” fame.

Guest star Robert Carradine plays the heavy on “Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt” that aired on CBS in May, 2012.
