My Review

Plenty of laughs and hilarity from chaotic situation abound in “It’s Complicated.” Producer-director-screenwriter Nancy Meyers (“Private Benjamin” 1980) is responsible for this slick romantic comedy, well paced throughout most of its two hour duration.

Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin star as a divorced couple seemed set to renew their 21-year marriage after being apart for a decade, when complications arise. Baldwin has a young wife he seems reluctant to part with, and Steve Martin shows up as a suiter for Streep. The three big stars show up with their usual signature styles, and do not disappoint.

The supporting cast includes Lake Bell, John Krasinski, Hunter Parrish, Zoe Kazan, Caitlin FitzGerald, Mary Kay Place, Rita Wilson, Alexandra Wentworth, Emjay Anthony, Nora Dunn. There were uncredited cameo appearances by Alan Cumming, Anne Lockhart, and Oprah Winfrey. “It’s Complicated” was a big hit in theatrical release for Universal Pictures.
