My Review

“It Happened at the World’s Fair” is a typical Elvis Presley vehicle: Great songs, interesting story, pretty girls, and exotic location shoots, this time at the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle. Perennial Elvis director Norman Taurog was at the helm here, keeping this MGM picture seem fresh and original.

The King of Rock and Roll’s talented co-stars include Joan O’Brien, Gary Lockwood, Vicki Tiu, Yvonne Craig, Kam Tong, Edith Atwater, Guy Raymond, Dorothy Green, H. M. Wynant, and Kurt Russell in an uncredited role in what was his motion picture debut at the age of twelve. Child actress Vicki Tiu grew up to be the first lady of Hawaii (1997-2002) due to her marriage to Governor Ben Cayetano.

The bouncy musical and watchable movie “It Happened at the World’s Fair” was popular in theatrical release for Ted Richmond Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
