My Review

The innovation and ingenuity at Pixar Animation Studios never ceased to amaze. “Inside Out” is the story of the inner workings inside the mind of a young girl, with an original story, an excellent screenplay, colorful animation, and exceptional voice performances. Viewing in 3-D only enhances everything.

The man responsible is director Pete Docter (“Up” 2009), who co-wrote the screenplay with Meg LaFauve and Josh Cooley, and originated the story with Ronnie Del Carmen. Animation supervisors Shawn Krause and Victor Navone deserve honorable mention for the stunning art work. Michael Giacchino composed the film’s fantastic score.

Actors doing voice work include Kaitlyn Dias, Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Mindy Kailing, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan, Paula Poundstone, Bobby Moynihan, Frank Oz, John Ratzenberger, Richard Kind, Rashida Jones.

“Inside Out” is a highly watchable motion picture, yet another outstanding addition to PIxar’s library of modern animation classics. It won the Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay. “Inside Out” was a smash at the box office for Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures.
