The animated movie feature “Inside Out 2” continues the story of the first film (“Inside Out” 2015) and once again goes inside the mind of Riley Anderson, now a teenager. The emotions of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust face a new challenge in the teen years with her newly-formed “Sense of Self” and the appearance of Anxiety. Director Kelsey Mann has done a marvelous job at showing the inner-workings of the mind, in his feature film debut. The screenplay was penned by Meg LeFauve and Dave Holstein. Colorful animation and cinematography handled by Adam Habib and Jonathan Pytko.
The voice cast includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri, Lilimar, Steve Purcell, Frank Oz, Paula Poundstone, John Ratzenberger, Bobby Moynihan, Adele Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan as Riley’s Bay Area parents. The very watchable “Inside Out 2” has made over one billion dollars at the box office for Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studios, and The Walt Disney Company. It is the highest grossing film of 2024, so far.
