“In Like Flint,” the sequel to “Our Man Flint” (1966), once again has James Coburn as secret agent Derek Flint saving the world, this time from an all-female organization trying to take over the entire planet by kidnapping the President of the United States, among other dastardly deeds.
Director Gordon Douglas (“Robin and the Seven Hoods” 1964) managed to hold the project on track enough to make it an entertaining film; the lucid screenplay was penned by Hal Fimberg. Co-stars include Lee J. Cobb, Jean Hale, Anna Lee, Hanna Landy, Totty Ames, Steve Ihnat, Thomas Hasson, Herb Edelman, Yvonne Craig, and Bill Lear, the founder of the Lear Jet Corporation, in a cameo appearance. Andrew Duggan appears as President Trent of the U. S. of A. “In Like Flint” was a success at the box office for 20th Century Fox.
