Global warming is bothering the herd in their second adventure in “Ice Age: The Meltdown.” Melting ice is causing flooding in their little valley, as the original voice cast returns: Ray Romano (Manny), John Leguizamo (Sid), Denis Leary (Diego), and Chris Wedge (Scrat). They are joined by Queen Latifah as Ellie and Seann William Scott and Josh Peck as the opossums Crash and Eddie.
Director Carlos Saldanha (co-director of 2002’s first “Ice Age”) and screenwriters Peter Gaulke, Gerry Swallow, and Jim Hecht did an exceptional job of creating this entertaining sequel. It has a freshness and originality all its own while remaining faithful to the original. Movie goers thus made this picture a huge blockbuster, rewarding Blue Sky Studios, 20th Century Fox Animation, and 20th Century Fox Studios. Jay Leno and Will Arnett also lend their voices to the very watchable “Ice Age: The Meltdown.”
