My Review

“Hotel Mumbai” is the dramatization of the 2008 real-life attacks on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, India, by Muslim extremists. Australian director Anthony Maras created an exciting nail-bitter of a thriller in his feature film debut; he also co-wrote the screenplay with John Collee. Not a dull moment in the picture’s 125 minute running time!

The cast is headed by Dev Patel, who plays a waiter working to help frightened guests. Armie Hammer and Nazanin Boniadi portray a couple doing their best to protect their infant son. Others include Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Anupam Kher, Jason Isaacs, Suhail Nayyar, Vipin Sharma, Angus McLaren, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Chantel Contouri.

This watchable movie “Hotel Mumbai” experienced modest commercial success at the box office for Screen Australia, South Australian Film Corporation, Thunder Road Pictures, Electric Pictures, Xeitgeist Entertainment Group, Arclight Films, Double Guess Productions, and distributed by Bleeker Street Media (U. S.), Icon Film Distribution (Australia), and Purpose Entertainment (India).
