Dwayne Johnson is the center of attention in the action-adventure picture “Hercules.” Producer-director Brett Ratner (“Tower Heist” 2011) made sure that the film’s non-stop action has good pacing, supplemented by loads of special effects. The well written screenplay by Ryan J Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos was adapted from the comic book “Hercules: The Thracian Wars” by Steve Moore.
The former professional wrestler Johnson seems to have developed a winsome personality for the big screen, bringing a “touchy-feely” personality to the legendary Hercules of Greek mythology. The other actors are quite a varied lot: Ian McShane, Rebecca Ferguson, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Reece Ritchie. All part of the watchable summer blockbuster popcorn movie “Hercules” from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Paramount Pictures.
