My Review

Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, and director-screenwriter James Gunn have come out with “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” a superior product to the original that he directed back in 2014. This sequel to “Guardians of the Galaxy” has more complex action sequences, a larger cast, and an interesting storyline about central character Peter Quill’s parentage.

Star Chris Pratt continues to be money-in-the-bank as a leading man; he is on his way to superstar status. James Gunn and producer Kevin Feige use him very well in this picture. Kurt Russell returns to his old employer Walt Disney Pictures here as Pratt’s long absent father. Sylvester Stallone also joins the cast as Stakar Ogord, a interesting character we will see more of in the future.

Other stars (in person or in voice) include Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Sean Gunn, Seth Green, and David Hasselhoff in a cameo appearance as himself.

All part of the fun and games in this watchable family film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” from Walt Disney, the fifteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
