“Green and Gold” is a drama film about a Wisconsin farmer who bets on the Green Bay Packers to save his farm. Anders Lindwall, in his first job as a movie director, put together a passable film with themes we have seen before. The direction is a bit uneven as there are segments of the picture with dull and uninteresting dialogue. (Boring, to put it bluntly.) The screenplay is subpar, written by Lindwall and three others.
The cast includes Craig T. Nelson, Brandon Skenlar, M. Emmet Walsh, Madison Lawlor, Charlie Berens, Ashton Moio, and Tim Frank. This was Walsh’s final motion picture, in a career that began in 1969 when he appeared in United Artists’ “Alice’s Restaurant.” This so-so indy film “Green and Gold” was distributed in theaters by Fathom Events.
