My Review

“Give My Regards to Broad Street” is not really a typical motion picture in the classic sense, but a string of Paul McCartney’s music videos arranged back-to-back in a most pleasant fashion. Everything from Beatles tunes to many hits songs of the Wings era were featured, including an “Eleanor Rigby” vignette that went on for twenty minutes.

Paul McCartney, of course, appeared as himself, as did Ringo Starr, George Martin, and Linda McCartney. Others include Bryan Brown, Barbara Bach, Tracey Ullman, and Ralph Richardson in one of his last movie roles in a career that began in 1931. Peter Webb directed the very watchable and entertaining “Give My Regards to Broad Street” which was not successful in theatrical release for MPL Communications and 20th Century Fox.
