“Ghost Town” is a comedy starring Ricky Gervais as a dentist who can see and communicate with ghosts. Although the film, directed by David Koepp (“Secret Window” 2004), who also co-wrote the screenplay with John Kamps, has some very funny moments, it suffers because of the similarity to the 1999 Bruce Willis flick “The Sixth Sense.”
The supporting cast includes Tea Leoni, Greg Kinnear, Billy Campbell, Kristen Wiig, Dana Ivey, Alan Ruck, Brian D’Arcy James. The barely watchable “Ghost Town” did not do well in theatrical release, no doubt a disappointment to DreamWorks Pictures, Spyglass Entertainment, and Paramount Pictures.
