My Review

“Get Out” is a superior horror film about a young African-American man who discovers a disturbing secret when he visits the family of his white girl friend. Director-screenwriter Jordan Peele, in his big screen debut, does an excellent job of orchestrating the unfolding drama in a smooth manner throughout the entire 104 minute movie. There are plenty of surprises along the way to keep the viewers entertained!

“Get Out” earned four Academy Award nominations, with one win for Best Screenplay for Peele, and nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for leading man Daniel Kaluuya. His captivating performance, alongside the job well done by Allison Williams as his character’s significant other, contributed greatly to this project’s believability.

The supporting cast includes Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, Lakeith Stanfield, Erika Alexander, Marcus Henderson, and Betty Gabriel. The underlying racial theme of “Get Out” is unmistakable, an important factor of the tense drama and horror of this watchable motion picture from Universal Pictures, a big money-maker in theatrical release.
