My Review

“Frogs” is a horror movie about chemical pollution of a swamp causing animal species such as frogs, snakes, birds, and lizards to attack local residents, especially one particular family. Director George McCowan (“The Challenge” 1970) actually guided this low-budget “B” movie to qualify as a watchable film and to meet minimal requirements as good entertainment. The passable screenplay was penned by Robert Hutchison and Robert Blees.

The cast includes Ray Milland, Sam Elliot, Joan Van Ark, Adam Roarke, Lynn Borden, Judy Pace, and Mae Mercer. This was an early career film for both Elliot and Van Ark, who both went on to successful show business career. Elliot has been featured in numerous motion pictures, and Van Ark starred as Valene Ewing in the night time dramas “Dallas” and “Knots Landing.”

“Frogs” was not very successful in theatrical release for American International Pictures.
