My Review

Filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi takes a fair, honest, and unbiased look at evangelical Protestants across America, and their effects on culture, politics, society, and the arts in “Friends of God: A Road Trip with Alexandria Pelosi.” She interviews prominent Christian leaders like Joel Osteen at Lakewood Church in Houston, Ted Haggard at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, and Jerry Falwell at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Producer-director-screenwriter-narrator Pelosi, the daughter of former U. S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, also visited the Holy Land Experience in Orlando, chatted with Christian comedian Brad Stine, and interviewed Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, an organization that provides teaching and resource material on “creationism.”

Pastors and laymen alike were allowed to voice their opinions freely and openly in “Friends of God: A Road Trip with Alexandra Pelosi,” that first aired on HBO in January, 2007.
