My Review

“Freaky Friday” is a comedy fantasy movie about a battling mother and daughter who switch bodies after receiving cryptic fortunes at a Chinese restaurant. They are forced to masquerade as one another as they cannot switch back, which helps them see the other’s point of view. This somewhat formulaic comedy was well constructed by director Mark Waters (“Head Over Heels” 2001) and script authors Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan deliver good performances as the mother-daughter characters. They have good chemistry and are quite believable in their respective roles. Co-stars include Mark Harmon, Harold Gould, Chad Michael Murray, Rosalind Chao, Stephen Tobolowsky, Christina Vidal, Ryan Malgarini, Julie Gonzalo, Mark McClure, Mary Ellen Trainor, Lucille Soong, and Willie Garson. The watchable “Freaky Friday” was a success in theatrical release for Walt Disney Pictures, Gunn Films, and Buena Vista Pictures.
