My Review

“Finding Neverland” is a film about writer J. M. Barrie’s experiences that lead to his penning the famous play “Peter Pan.” Johnny Depp stars in the lead part, Marc Forster (“Monster’s Ball” 2001) is the director, and David Magee authored the screenplay.

Despite all of the talent involved, “Finding Neverland” is an immensely boring motion picture. Actors Depp and Kate Winslet recite words as they are robots; veteran stars Julie Christie and Dustin Hoffman are not much better. Others include Radha Mitchell, Freddie Highmore, Mackenzie Crook, Toby Jones, and Kelly Macdonald as Peter Pan.

However, “Finding Neverland” as successful at the box office for FilmColony and Miramax Films. It was nominated for seven Oscars, winning one for Best Original Score (Jan A. P. Kaczmarek).
