My Review

Strange atmospherics and excessive amounts of fog make up the background of the film noir “Escape in the Fog.” It tells the story of a nurse who dreams of a murder, and soon after meets the victim in real life. She is unaware that he is involved in a war espionage plot involving enemy foreign agents. The heavy drama proceeds from there, well directed by Budd Boetticher (“The Missing Juror” 1944).

The adequate script was penned by Aubrey Wisberg, giving good dialogue to cast members Otto Kruger, Nina Foch, William Wright, Konstantin Shane, Ivan Triesault, Ernie Adams, Heinie Conklin, and Frank Mayo as the bartender. The watchable black-and-white B-movie “Escape in the Fog” was only a modest success at the box office for Columbia Pictures.
