“Elysium” is a science fiction film from director-screenwriter Neill Blomkamp that starts off as promising sci-fi action but disintegrates into political commentary that is woven into the storyline, as he did in “District 9” (2009), his last movie. Stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Diego Luna, Wagner Moura, William Fichtner, and Brandon Auret do little to help this boring and tedious film.
On the positive side, “Elysium” did have good special effects and a nice musical score by Ryan Amon. It was popular at the box office for TriStar Pictures and Sony Pictures Releasing.
