My Review

Bing Crosby stars in “Double or Nothing,” a musical comedy in which he is one of four people who is given a chance to win millions of dollars from a millionaire’s estate. Screenwriters Duke Atteberry, Erwin Gelsey, John Moffitt, and Charles Lederer provided loads of comedy for the cast, which includes Andy Devine, William Frawley, Martha Raye, Mary Carlisle, Samuel S. Hinds, William Henry, Benny Baker, and Fay Holden.

Theodore Reed (“When the Clouds Roll By” 1919) was expert at directing a large cast and turning a complex plot into a fun motion picture from Paramount Pictures. The music by John Leipold and Victor Young provided two hits for Bing. “The Moon Got in My Eyes” and “It’s the Natural Thing to Do” went to the top of the music charts in 1937.
