Director Eli Roth (“Cabin Fever” 2002) and screenwriter Joe Carnahan put together an outstanding remake of “Death Wish.” This new version is very close to Charles Bronson’s original 1974 picture, which in turn was adapted from the 1972 novel by Brian Garfield. A good story is a good story, and doesn’t need tweaking or changing.
In this new “Death Wish,” Bruce Willis lends his talents in playing a Chicago doctor out for revenge on the men who killed his wife. Good role for and great job by Willis. Supporting cast members include Vincent D’Onofrio, Dean Norris, Kimberly Elise, Mike Epps, Camila Morrone, Wendy Crewson, Len Cariou, and Elisabeth Shue as Willis’ wife. “Death Wish” is solid entertainment from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
