My Review

Agatha Christie’s 1949 novel “Crooked House” has been made into a watchable motion picture starring Glenn Close as a senior member of a dysfunctional wealthy family in England. Director Gilles Paquet-Brenner (“Pretty Things” 2001). who also co-wrote the screenplay with Julian Fellowes and Tim Rose Price, kept the high drama from the book while managing a large cast of actors.

Close’s co-stars include veteran Terence Stamp as the Chief Inspector, as well as Max Irons, Sefanie Martini, Julian Sands, Honor Kneafsey, Christian McKay, Amanda Abbington, Gillian Anderson, Christina Hendricks, Preston Nyman, and Jenny Galloway as the nanny. The independent British production “Crooked House” does not disappoint, worthy to be viewed at your house.
