“Crazy Rich Asians” is an amusing romantic comedy, Hollywood’s first major film starring Asian-American actors since “The Joy Luck Club” of 1993. There is an abundance of laughs and drama, as the story is basically a conventional big screen romantic comedy.
Director Jon M. Chu (“Now You See Me 2″2016) and screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim put together a film that has been a huge hit at the box office. The actors delivered on the performance front, with Henry Golding and Constance Wu as the leading man and leading lady. Hollywood veteran Michelle Yeoh was outstanding as Golding’s mother, drawing rave reviews. Other cast members include Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina, Harry Shum Jr., Ken Jeong, Sonoya Mizuno, and Chris Pang in this Warner Bros. Pictures blockbuster.
