My Review

“Cold Blood” is an action thriller film about a hit man hiding out in the isolated North American wilderness somewhere on the U. S. side of the Canadian/American border. His peace and quiet is disturbed when he must care for a woman injured in a snowmobiling accident, and is upset even more when he discovers she harbors a shocking secret.

Director-screenwriter Frederic Petitjean has created another run-of-the-mill action thriller with a predictable plot and shopworn storyline. The film does have excellent cinematography by Thierry Arbogast, apparently filmed in snow-bound Canada. There are loads of action scenes and acceptable performances by Jean Reno, Sarah Lind, Joe Anderson, David Gyasi, and Samantha Bond to keep action fans occupied.

It is good to see Samantha Bond at work even in her very small part here, as we well remember her as Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond pictures of 1995, 1997, 1999, and 2002. She is also active in the most recent “Downton Abbey” film of 2022 and it’s soon to be released sequel in 2025. “Cold Blood” was a flop at the box office for Screen Media Films and Universal Pictures.
