My Review

“Christmas Homecoming” is a holiday film telling the story of a military widow who rents an apartment to an Army soldier, recovering from a combat injury. The pair team up to save the town’s military museum, and start to fall in love. However, problems arise along the way in this Hallmark made-for-television movie directed by Paul A. Kaufman.

The film contains all of the usual Hallmark Christmas movie characteristics, such as good production values, loads of Christmas decorations, schmaltzy storylines, and a clean script penned by Todd Messegee, Lisa Nanni-Messegee, and Donald Martin. The stars of “Christmas Homecoming” turn out good performances, such as Julie Benz, Michael Shanks, Lauren K. Robek, Toby Levins, Farryn VanHumbeck, Chilton Crane, Steve Makaj, and Daniel Bacon as Dr. Baxter.
