My Review

Barbara Stanwyck and Ronald Reagan head up the western action in “Cattle Queen of Montana.” Stanwyck plays a rancher whose land and cattle is attacked by Indians and hostile whites in the area. She receives help from one of the Native Americans and a hired gunman played by Reagan. Director Allan Dwan (“Sweethearts on Parade” 1953) put together a “B” western that is predicable, albeit entertaining, entertainment. The adequate screenplay was penned by Robert Blees and Howard Estabrook.

Co-stars behind Barbara Stanwyck and Ronald Reagan includes Gene Evans, Lance Fuller, Anthony Caruso, Jack Elam, Yvette Duguay, Morris Ankrum, Chubby Johnson, Myron Healey, Hugh Sanders, and Bert Mustin as Dan. The watchable “Cattle Queen of Montana” was a modest success in theatrical release for Filmcrest Productions and RKO Radio Pictures.
