“BlacKkKlansman” is director Spike Lee’s movie about Colorado Springs Police Department’s first African-American detective who launches an effort to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan in the 1970’s.
Lee keeps the 135 minute picture flowing smoothly, and gets good performances out of John David Washington and Adam Driver as the two principal detectives. Also appearing are Laura Harrier, Ryan Eggold, Topher Grace, Paul Walter Hauser, Michael Buscemi, Harry Belafonte, and Alec Baldwin.
Spike Lee is commended for putting together this watchable independent film, a moderate success at the box office.
