“Black Adam” is a superhero movie starring Dwayne Johnson in this 11th film in the DC Extended Universe. Director Jaume Collet-Serra (“The Commuter” 2018) put loads of exciting action sequences into this picture, but he and his team of screenwriters (Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, Aohrab Noshirvani) did a terrible job with the confusing plot and an uneven storyline.
The supporting cast includes Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, and Pierce Brosnan. Spoiler Alert: There were surprise cameo appearances by Henry Winkler, Djimon Hounsou, Viola Davis, and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman.
The often boring “Black Adam” was fairly successful in theaters much to the relief of producer Dwayne Johnson, New Line Cinema, DC Films, and Warner Bros. Pictures. Postscript: DC Films do not have nearly the quality of superheroes as does Walt Disney’s Marvel Studios.
