My Review

Fans of the movie “Beetlejuice” from 1988 will not be disappointed by the sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” This dark comedy horror film is much like the original: General confusion reigning from an indiscernible plot or storyline from director Tim Burton (Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” 1985) and screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. One exciting scene for this reviewer came in a dream sequence toward the end of the film where the cast is singing the Donna Summer hit “MacArthur Park.”

The cast is headed by Michael Keaton in the title role. He will most likely not be in contention for any Oscar nods. Co-stars include Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenny Ortega, Justin Theroux, William Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Nick Kellington, Santiago Cabrera, Burn Gorman, Amy Nuttail, and Danny DeVito in a cameo role as an afterlife janitor. “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” has been quite a success at the box office for producer Tim Burton, The Geffen Company, Plan B Entertainment, Tim Burton Productions, Domain Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Pictures.
