My Review

“Bad Man’s River” is western film that tells the story of a man who robs a bank, and then marries a beautiful woman, only to have her run off with the money. This attempt to emulate Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Westerns fell flat on its face with sloppy direction (Spanish director Eugenio Martin), a terrible screenplay (Martin and Philip Yordan), and bad acting.

The international cast of noted actors did not help. This includes Lee Van Cleef (America), Gina Lollobrigida (Italy), James Mason (England), and Lone Fleming (Denmark). Other actors were mostly Spanish: Daniel Martin, Jose Manuel Martin, Simon Andreu, Diana Lorys, Aldo Sambrell, Eduardo Fajardo. “Bad Man’s River” was a big flop at the box office for the American producer Bernard Gordon and the consortium of movie production companies from Spain, Italy, and France.
