My Review

“Arbitrage” is an absorbing crime drama movie about a hedge fund manager who has been “cooking the books” of his company as he nears retirement. People at the firm begin to get suspicious, including his daughter, who is employed there. To complicate matters, he crashes his car that results in the death of his mistress. He flees the scene of the crime.

Director-screenwriter Nicholas Jarecki (“The Outsider” 2005) created quite a humdinger of a story here with Richard Gere as the star of the show. The veteran actor does not disappoint as the leading man. Co-stars include Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth, Brit Marling, Laetitia Casta, Nate Parker, Stuart Margolin, Chris Eigeman, Graydon Carter, and Bruce Altman.

The watchable suspense thriller “Arbitrage” was moderately successful in theatrical release for independent movie companies Green Room Films, Treehouse Pictures, and Artina Films.
