My Review

“Aquaman” made a big splash at the box office, thanks to superheroic direction by James Wan (“Furious 7” 2015) and good writing by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall. Though the film really did not offer anything new in the way of story, the endless action and adventure in this nearly two-and-a-half sixth installment of the DC Extended Universe is indeed a crowd pleaser.

The cast is headed by Jason Momoa in the title role. He performs well enough, supported by Amber Heard, William Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Graham McTavish, Djimon Hounsou, with Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s parents. Julie Andrews and John Rhys-Davies lend their voices in small parts..

All things considered, “Aquaman” from Warner Bros. Pictures is watchable entertainment.
