Christian moviemakers Andrew and Jon Erwin (“I Can Only Imagine” 2018) have come out with another gem, this time the true rags-to-riches story of football player Kurt Warner.
Actor Zachary Levi cornered the market on this role of a man who struggled in grocery store jobs and arena football for over a decade before hitting the big time in the National Football League and winning in the Super Bowl. Levi’s performance is outstanding.
The Erwin Brothers have a strong cast supporting Levi including former child actress (and Oscar winner) Anna Paquin, veteran Dennis Quaid, Chance Kelly, Ser Darius Blain, Adam Baldwin, Bruce McGill, Danny Vinson.
The very watchable and emotional “American Underdog” is an independent picture from Kingdom Story Co, Erwin Brothers Entertainment, and City on a Hill Productions.
