My Review

Producer-director-screenwriter Cameron Crowe (“Jerry Maguire” 1996) put together a film called “Aloha” that has a confusing storyline, meandering plot, bad acting, and poor production values. The subject and direction of the movie is also in question: Is “Aloha” a romantic comedy, a political drama, a family picture, or what? Only Crowe knows for sure.

The cast looked bad performing this awful material, despite being some reliable big-name stars like Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Danny McBride, and Bill Camp.

The setting on the island of Oahu helps some, but there is not much Hawaiian scenery to be seen in this film. And do not expect any of the “Aloha spirit” to be present in “Aloha,” a big flop at the box office for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures.
