My Review

“A Walk to Remember” is a high school love story between a “bad boy” who falls in love with a Christian girl. This low-key, non-preachy, faith-based Christian film was well directed by Adam Shankman (“The Wedding Planner” 2001) from a screenplay by Karen Janszen. It was adapted from the 1999 novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks.

Mandy Moore gives a good performance as Jamie, the preacher’s kid, in her first starring role. Other actors includes Shane West as her boyfriend, Peter Coyote as Mandy’s church pastor father, Daryl Hannah as Shane’s mom, as well as Laura German, Clayne Crawford, Paz de la Huerta, Matt Lutz, and David Lee Smith. The watchable “A Walk to Remember” was successful at the box office for producer Denise Di Novi, Gaylord Films, Pandora Cinema, and Warner Bros. Pictures.
