“The Wall” is a war film about two American soldiers in postwar Iraq who find themselves pinned down by a sniper and taking refuge behind a crumbling stone wall. Both are injured and shortly discover the sniper has all of the advantages. Director Doug Liman (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” 2005) put together a riveting thriller despite the physical limitations of the subject matter, which is so intense that mercifully the running time of the film is only 88 minutes.
The cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Cena as the two military men and Laith Nakli as the sniper (voice only). The screenplay was written by Dwain Worrell. The watchable thriller “The Wall” was not successful at the box office for Big Indie Pictures, Picrow, Amazon Studios, and Roadside Attractions.
